**yeah, doesn't address the problems as much as the possible solutions, but whatever I'll fix that later. Just getting a ball rollin'
There are some issues with arguing on Facebook. We often have to go over the same arguments over and over again and it's not very easy to refer to them. They get lost in the stack. So here are some ideas.
1) You could catalog your arguments by saving them in links. There is a link embedded in every comment and every post in the time reference.
The problem with this is that there is still no guarantee that your comment is going to remain if someone decides to leave the group. People often leave the group because Facebook makes notifications the default so it's not as easy to step away from an argument, plus the fact that we aren't used to cataloging our posts ourselves leads to feeling that if one does not reply soon, they will never be able to reply.
2) One could start blogging again.
Using a blogging service gives you more control of how you get reminded that you're in an discussion, and organizing your posts. I don't think comments someone has made on your blog disappear if they stop blogging, so if someone leaves you won't look as if you are talking to yourself. One can even control who gets to see your posts if you want your blog to be private to only a select few.
Just imagine being able to label all your arguments for or against evolution and provide that label to someone so they could view all your thoughts on the matter.
3) We could use more sophisticated discussion services that support threading.
Often an original posts branches off into many different discussions. This branching off is natural, but difficult to refer to in a linear format. There are forums and discussion sites that show a linear version of a conversation and how it branches off into different topics.
